Plastics and Rubber Freight Shipping

If you have items made primarily of plastic and/or rubber, ranging in size and shipping to a business or residential location, you will need to engage in a Truckload or LTL freight shipment.  Less than Truckload shipping, also known as LTL shipping is used for freight shipments that range from 100-7000lbs. and take up only a portion of a freight truck. These LTL freight shipments are handled through LTL freight carriers including R&L Carriers, Southeastern Freight Lines, and YRC.

When it comes to shipping plastic or rubber items, it is important to be aware of the various NMFC codes and freight classes, which are established by the NMFTA (National Motor Freight Traffic Association). There are a few items whose class is wholly dependent upon the item’s density, in which plastics and rubber generally fall into this group. At LTL Freight Shop, we have the tools needed to correctly determine the NMFC freight classification of your shipment. Our responsibility to our customers is to provide the best price for LTL freight shipping through our strong relationships with over 50 LTL freight carriers.

Don’t forget… If the plastic or rubber items are high value shipments and you would like to protect against any unwanted damage, you may want to consider inquiring about extra liability and cargo insurance for your LTL freight shipment. However, LTL shipments are usually palletized and shrink-wrapped for a mixed freight environment.

Please contact us with any further questions or concerns regarding your rubber or plastic shipping. If you need a Truckload or LTL freight shipping quote for these types of LTL shipping, contact us or click Request a Freight Quote.
